About Bob
Robert Brumbaugh is a Business Certified Appraiser (BCA) by the International Society of Business Appraisers (ISBA), Master Certified Machinery and Equipment Appraiser (MCMEA) by the NEBB Institute (retired), Expert Equipment Certified Appraiser by Institute of Equipment Valuation (IEV), business broker, and financial consultant. Over the past several years, Bob has prepared more than 3000 Furniture Fixture & Equipment (FF&E) appraisals and business valuation projects for several local, regional, and national banks and has conducted more than 550 failed bank branch appraisals for the FDIC. The FDIC work has approximated 10% of all failed banks in the country for the eight years ending 2014. He has also assisted with Small Business Administration collateral appraisals, business valuations, risk management calculations, inventory appraisals, litigation issues and merger and acquisition valuations for private industry.
Previously, Bob was active in the financial securities industry for more than twenty-seven years. As President and owner of a NASD/FINRA member broker/dealer, he originated and funded Private Placement Regulation D, Section 504 and 506 security offerings for start-up and developmental stage companies. In this capacity, he generated numerous equipment appraisals and company valuation reports for security offerings and investment underwritings.
During his business career, he has been associated with the Finance departments of Tulane University, Wesleyan College, and an affiliate of the University of Phoenix as an adjunct professor facilitating upper-level finance and investment courses. Additionally, he has sponsored and facilitated many CPA continuing education classes on capital formation and valuation topics. Bob has also served as a credit manager and controller of a major corporation.
Bob holds an MBA degree in Finance and Marketing from Western Michigan University and a BBA degree in Management from Eastern Michigan University. He has also taken American Society of Appraisers (ASA) Business Valuation courses, International Society of Business Appraisers (ISBA) Business Certified Appraiser (BCA) classes, and is a Senior Business Analyst (SBA) and member of the Society of Business Analysts (SBA). Most recently, he formed and is president of the Institute of Equipment Valuation: A certification, education, and membership organization promoting the equipment appraisal industry.
